Capt Paddy, Lucky and Jason reach €10,000

Jason Phelan, of Patrick Street, Mullingar, launched The Adventures of Capt Paddy and Lucky in December 2022 with the aim of raising awareness and funds for two Irish charities: Lauralynn Children’s Hospice and Dogs Trust Ireland.

What began as a modest fundraiser within Ireland quickly gained international attention and the campaign has now raised more than €10,000 – €6,000 for Lauralynn and €4,000 for Dogs Trust Ireland.

The adventurous teddy bears have embarked on a global journey, visiting five continents, 27 countries, and flying on 65 different types of aircraft, achieving altitudes and speeds unmatched by any other teddy bear in Ireland.

On November 7, they participated in the inaugural AvCon event aimed at inspiring transition year students to consider careers in aviation. The event drew 6,000 students, and Capt Paddy and Lucky shared the spotlight with Ally Garvey and Karl Bowe.
