Teen in court today as assault investigation continues

A 17-year-old male has been charged in connection with a serious assault that occurred on Grove Street, Mullingar, on Saturday, December 14, and is to appear at Mullingar District Court this morning, Thursday December 19.

A second 17-year-old youth arrested in connection with the incident has been released without charge.

A file will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).

The victim remains in critical condition at Beaumont Hospital.

Investigations are ongoing.
