Happy New Year
Happy New Year to all our members and supporters. We hope you enjoyed the festivities. Thank you for your continued support.
St. Stephen’s Day Fundraiser
There was a great turnout of players and supporters for our annual charity fundraiser event on St Stephen’s Day. We were overwhelmed by the level of support and raised more than €1,800 for Pieta House and Jason McKeon.
Pieta House provides a range of services nationally to people who are experiencing thoughts of suicide, those who engage in self-harm, and those bereaved by suicide. All their services are provided free of charge.
21-year-old Jason McKeon from Ballynacargy was diagnosed with leukaemia and is now undergoing intensive treatment at St. James’ Hospital in Dublin. Despite the challenges, Jason continues to face this battle with remarkable bravery and positivity. Ballynacargy GAA has launched a fundraising campaign to help support Jason and his family while he receives treatment.
Thanks to everyone for their support.

Senior Team Manager
The club is delighted with the appointment of the new manager Conor Foley. The club has already benefited over many decades from the involvement of Conor, MJ McLoughlin, Niall O'Neill and Paddy Marsh, who all brought pride to the jersey and are representative of the heart and soul of Castledaly club and its best qualities. Their experience, energy and enthusiasm made them a popular appointment and positivity has spread throughout the club since then.
We cannot over emphasis our appreciation and respect for all our senior, juvenile and underage managers, trainers and mentors, past and present, who contribute so much to Castledaly GAA each year. We have been blessed with the committee each year and we look forward to working together and supporting each other in 2025.

He played football for many years and was a member of the Milltown 1974 junior championship winning team. Following his playing days, Johnny held numerous official positions in the club and was always a loyal supporter. He left an indelible mark on the fabric of our team and our shared legacy.
Johnny’s commitment was matched only by his kindness and his ability to inspire those around him. He had a remarkable way of bringing people together, and his presence on the side line or in the stands was a source of strength and encouragement to all who knew him.

The event also contributed to the Parish Appeal donation, creating a meaningful impact while celebrating Mick’s legacy.
A special thanks goes to Gerry Ledwith and Rhys Brady who managed the gate and raffle ticket sales with great dedication. Charlene Maguire played a key role in presenting Mary Brennan with the Parish Appeal donation, a moment that highlighted the generosity of all who attended. Anita Nolan added to the significance of the day by presenting the Memorial Cup to the Feerick family, creating a heartfelt and touching moment for everyone present.
Kathy Reilly’s presence as the event photographer was as always invaluable, ensuring that the memories of the day were beautifully captured. The support of the Multyfarnham community centre which kindly provided the use of their kitchen, was also greatly appreciated.
The event was a fitting tribute to Mick Feerick and a testament to our club’s spirit. Thank you to everyone who contributed to making the day so memorable.
A Tribute to Mick Feerick : A Life Dedicated to his Club
Mick's contributions to our club were immeasurable, his tireless dedication and work ethic spanning decades and leaving an indelible mark on our organization's history. From his early days as club treasurer (1987-1992) to his later roles as underage secretary and vice chairman (1999-2008), Mick consistently exemplified exceptional leadership and unwavering commitment.
In 1991, Mick served as joint treasurer of Multyfarnham GAA, showcasing his financial acumen and ensuring the club's stability during a crucial period. Later, with St Fintan's/Multyfarnham, he held the role of vice chairman in 1999, 2000, and 2001, followed by his term as secretary in 2002 and 2003. His contributions extended to representing Multyfarnham as a County Board delegate where he championed the club's interests and actively engaged in broader decision-making processes. Additionally, his work at the underage level during the first decade of the 2000s highlighted his dedication to nurturing young talent and fostering a vibrant future for the club.
Under his financial stewardship during his tenure as treasurer (1987-1992), Mick expertly managed resources, laying a solid foundation for future success. In his subsequent roles as underage secretary and vice chairman, his versatility shone as he dedicated himself to nurturing the next generation of players and driving key administrative and strategic decisions.
Beyond his formal positions, Mick’s involvement extended to many vital initiatives. He was a driving force behind the hugely successful Multyfarnham lotto since its inception in 2002, significantly contributing to the club's fundraising efforts. His infectious enthusiasm during the annual Christmas bag pack inspired widespread participation and support. Additionally, his time as a junior team selector (2006-2007) further reflected his deep-rooted passion for the sport and its players.
Mick's legacy transcends balance sheets and meeting minutes; he embodied the very spirit of community and volunteerism. His steadfast commitment has inspired countless others and set a shining example of what it means to be part of a club. As we reflect on his contributions, we are reminded that it is the dedication and passion of individuals like Mick that build and sustain strong, vibrant clubs.

Petition to Make Road Safer
Members of the community are invited to sign a position, available in Leonard’s shop, Clonmellon, which will be used to campaign for road safety measures in the village. The aim is to make our roads safer for school pupils and the general public. This petition will be used to support requests for funding in a bid to increase safety measures on our roads.
Clonmellon Christmas Lights
