Bunkers Pass shines

After a brief break for Christmas, racing returned to Mullingar on Friday morning December 27 with a ten race card.

The best return for the 525 yds of the session was recorded in the sixth race by Bunkers Pass which is trained by David Murray for the Lakeside-Rockets-Syndicate, Mullingar. Having been led in the early stages by Lahinch Lilly, she took control rounding the third bend and powered home nine and a half lengths clear from the early leader in 29.85.

Kildare trainer Rosemary Price recorded the first leg of a double in the 525 yds third race with No Comet which she trains for Aidan Price, Kildare. Twobadshoulders broke in front and led into the home straight, where No Comet came from way off the pace to win by a short head in 30.09.

So Motivated completed the price double in the tenth race when he made every yard of the running to win by eight lengths from the always second Faradays Ellie in 29.94 and record his second win from three starts.

The Duffy Kennels from Navan recorded the first leg of a double in the 525 yds eighth race with Bull Run Berry. Having been led to the last bend by Mustang Coco and Shirley's Girl, she took the lead into the home straight and had eight and a half lengths to spare at the line from Mustang Coco in 29.99.

Faradays Lauren repeated her trap-to-line success of last week in the 525 yds ninth race for her Meath owner Conor Duffy. After breaking in front she held pole position under pressure from Trush to win by one length in 29.97 and completed the Duffy Double.

Ian Reilly supplied the winner of the 525 yds first race with Phoenix Dream which he trains for Billy Reilly, Navan, from a fast start she made all the running to win by a length and a half from Crokers Harbour in 30.53.

Crokers Bluebell broke in front in the 525 yds second race and led into the home straight, where Blue Jig Sky came in the late stages to snatch victory by half a length in 30.29. The winner is trained by William Berry, for Cheap-As-Chips Racing Syndicate, Belfast.

Anthony Hamilton, Dublin supplied the winner of the 525 yds fourth race with Sunshine Willow after breaking in front she had an easy trip to the line to score by five and a half lengths from Rosshill Jason in 29.99.

Lahinch Molly broke in front in the 525 yds fifth race and made all the running into the home straight where Catchphase came from off the pace in the late stages to win by half a length in 30.23. The winner is owned by Philip Fitzpatrick, Co. Meath.

In the 525 yds seventh race Crokers Twinkle and Mangoodtom disputed the lead into the home straight where Flying Theo came with a late surge near the line to win by five and a half lengths from the early leader in 30.06. The winner is trained by Beatrice Steiner for the Fair-Play Syndicate, Loughduff, Co. Cavan.
