Mullingar school announces new special needs class

Coláiste Mhuire Secondary School in Mullingar is opening a new special needs class in time for the start of the new school year in September.

In a statement issued to local media this week, the school said that the new special needs has been designed "to provide tailored support and opportunities for students with diverse learning needs. Enrolment for the 2025 academic year is now open".

"This new initiative reflects Coláiste Mhuire’s commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment where all students can thrive. The programme is specifically structured to cater to students with a range of special educational needs, providing them with individualised instruction, access to specialised resources, within an inclusive mainstream school environment."

Coláiste Mhuire principal Keith Quinn says that the school community is "thrilled to introduce this new special class".

"It is is a testament to our belief that every child deserves access to quality education in an environment that respects and celebrates their individual strengths. Our goal is to empower students with the tools they need to succeed academically, socially, and personally.

"Coláiste Mhuire has a long-standing reputation for academic excellence and inclusivity. With the addition of this special class, the school is further enhancing its mission to provide equitable learning opportunities for all students."
