Gardaí investigate death of baby girl at Longford home

Gardaí have launched an investigation following the death of a baby at a house in Longford.

The baby girl was found unresponsive at a residential property in the Abbeylara area on Sunday morning last, January 26.

A postmortem is expected to be carried out later today (Monday, January 27), the results of which will determine the course of any subsequent possible investigation.

Gardaí have said are investigating all circumstances surrounding the death of the infant.
