Sweet sensation: Sugar Plum Sweetery’s Dubai Bar breaks records
Sugar Plum Sweetery, the award-winning Willy Wonka-inspired chocolate factory and shop in Mullingar, have launched their version of the Dubai Inspired Chocolate Bar.
After a trip to Dubai, owners Denise Buckley and David Quirke were captivated by the iconic Dubai Chocolate Bar – which went viral last year – and set out to create the most delicious version for their Irish customers.
Their efforts have paid off, as their creation has gone viral too.
Crafted with premium pistachios, toasted crunchy kataifi pastry, tahini, and enrobed in their award winning creamy milk chocolate, the bar delivers an unparalleled taste experience.
Denise Buckley said: “We’ve been operating nationwide for the last three years, but the demand for this bar is unlike anything we’ve seen. Orders have skyrocketed by 500%, and people are reordering in bulk. The feedback has been phenomenal – people are absolutely in love with this bar!”
The team at Sugar Plum Sweetery spent a month trialling, testing, and perfecting their recipe before launching it last November. “This was a labour of love,” says Denise. “Every ingredient is made from scratch and meticulously blended to achieve the most magical and sensational flavour.”
The Dubai Chocolate Bar’s success has been such that Sugar Plum Sweetery have introduced 10- and 20-bar multipacks to keep up with demand.
Customers are purchasing in bulk and also returning, describing the bar as “obsession-worthy”.
The team of master chocolatiers are now working 24 hours a day to keep up with demand, and have had to triple the size of their team over the last two months.
Denise and her team believe that the popularity of this new product will establish its place in confectionery history.
Looking ahead, Sugar Plum Sweetery’s Master Chocolatiers are already working on their Valentine’s and Easter collections, which will feature equally scrumptious Dubai-inspired creations.
In addition to their viral bar, some of their collection can now be found in Avoca, Brown Thomas and Arnotts, and, hidden in the packaging, there are Golden Tickets, just like Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory.
Lucky winners will get a taste of their own chocolate factory adventure in Mullingar.
The Dubai Chocolate Bar will launch at Avoca Stores in the coming weeks, providing more customers the opportunity to indulge.
For now, customers can find the bar in the Mullingar shop and order it at SugarPlumSweetery.ie for nationwide delivery. In 2022, Sugar Plum Sweetery opened and quickly made a name for itself, earning awards at the Irish Quality Food and Drink Awards, Great Taste and Blas na hÉireann Awards.
All the chocolate is handcrafted in Mullingar in their chocolate factory and shop by the team of master chocolatiers.
The Sweetery has also made it to The Gloss Top 20 Best Shops in Ireland, showcasing their dedication to creating magical moments.
