Cronin release cinematic new single

Local outfit Cronin are back with a sweeping new single, 'Overlooking Paris', out February 12 on Live Transmission Records.

Never ones to shy away from their influences, the band describe the track as their very own "James Bond spy theme", drawing from the lush, cinematic worlds of John Barry and Serge Gainsbourg. Lyrically, it channels the stripped-back elegance of Tom Waits's 'Johnsburg, Illinois' and the nostalgic romance of good friend ,Shane MacGowan's 'Summer in Siam'.

Recorded at Black Box Studio, France, the track was produced by David Odlum (The Frames, Lisa O Neill, Sam Smith), who also contributes guitar and synths. Strings come courtesy of Anna Houston (No Crowes) and Steve Wickham (The Waterboys), with additional recording and mixing by Mick Cronin at the band own Transmission Rooms Studio.

'Overlooking Paris' is the first taste of an upcoming EP dropping in April, with tour dates to follow. The single artwork designed by Mick Cronin features a 1920s postcard of the Paris skyline from Notre Dame.
