Hundreds queue for bargains at Mullingar store's closing down sale

Today's closing down sale at the New Look fashion store in the Fair Green Shopping Centre attracted hundreds of shoppers this afternoon.

According to reports, some bargain hunters queued for well over an hour to gain access to the store's clearance sale.

The New Look chain announced on Thursday that it was seeking the appointment of provisional liquidators as it is winding down its Irish operations following several years of losses and difficult market conditions.

The firm employs 347 staff across its 26 stores in the Republic of Ireland. The majority of the stores employ an average of 12-13 staff.
