Poppy ran off while out for a walk near The Downs last month.

Owners offer 'large reward' for missing dog

A search is taking place this Saturday (March 8) for a young pup that went missing last month.

Eleven month old Poppy ran off while being walked off-lead in the townland of Kerrinstown, near The Downs, on Friday February 7.

One of the organisers of the Saturday's search, says that Poppy's owners are “absolutely devastated and beyond heartbroken” and asked local people to come out to help find the “vulnerable” dog.

“Poppy was being walked in an area she was not familiar with. She had a pink collar on and a red harness. Poppy is not streetwise, has no recall, and is only 3kg, and she doesn't know the area at all.

“Poppy's family are inconsolable and can't sleep or eat. They are looking through the fields for Poppy but need as many locals as possible to help in an organised search on Saturday.

“She was spotted in the field shortly after she escaped but there have been no sightings in 20 plus days.

“A large a reward has been offered. If someone has taken her in to keep her safe and warm, could you please call her owner on 0868635266 to arrange to get Poppy home.”
