Prominent Westmeath business to close at end of the month

Family run business, Shane Maher Butcher Ltd, located at Peter Gillivan & Son, on Upper Main Street, Moate will cease trading in the town on March 30.

Serving the midlands community as a butcher in Moate since 2012, proprietor Shane has cited a number of reasons for his decision to close the business, one of which is a change of eating habits within the family dynamic.

The five time Midlands 'Butcher of the Year' award winner expressed his appreciation for all the support received since the decision was taken noting that the day to day interaction with his customers will be "sorely missed".
