More than 150 attend three-county event to for IWD 2025
Women in business from Westmeath, Longford and Leitrim gathered in the Mullingar Park Hotel on March 7 to celebrate International Women’s Day 2025.
The theme of the event for the day was ‘Making it Happen’ and guest speaker Pat Murphy of Smart Heat and chair of the Tri County Women in Business network spoke on all aspects of business and the importance of building a network of positive people around you.
MC for the day was Theresa Mulvihill of Smart Marketing, who opened the event and introduced the county speakers; Anna Marie Brosi of Coaching Psychologist, County Leitrim, Niamh Parkes of Heartlands Orchard, County Longford, and Clair O’Neill of Meab Enamels, County Westmeath.
In the panel discussion all speakers were involved and topics included self-employment, supports available and advice on what to do and what not to do.
The event was booked out and the packed room of more than 150 enthusiastic women listened to and inspired each other.
The event included a networking session hosted by Theresa Mulvihill, an activity called ‘Snowballs’ which involves asking delegates to write down answers to key questions which can be tailored to the subject matter of the conference.
Each delegate scrunches the paper they’ve written their answers on and throws it for another attendee to pick up. The MC then facilitates sharing the story of another attendee.
Catriona Duffy, business advisor, Local Enterprise Office Westmeath, thanked all in attendance, encouraged everyone to continue to network and support each other long after the event.
A presentation was made to Pat Murphy, who is stepping down as chair of the network, for all her work over the years.
