Presentation School pupils put on the style with Music Generation
Last week as part of Seachtain na Gaeilge 2025, Presentation Senior School organised a school concert in conjunction with Music Generation.
Each of the class standards (third, fourths, fifth and sixth) performed songs and poems and after that the audience was treated to a wonderful performance of traditional Irish music from two members of the school’s Music Generation team.
Established in 2010, Music Generation is a national music education programme whose mission is to empower children to realise their full potential through access to, and participation in, high quality performance music education. Presentation Senior School has been linking in with Music Generation for almost 15 years.
All pupils receive weekly guitar and ukulele lessons from the Music Generation team. Pupils also have the opportunity to join the school choir and/or tin whistle club.
“Music has the power to overcome differences and create a society that all of us can enjoy and belong in.”
