New upskilling opportunities available through LWETB

A suite of new further education and training (FET) micro-qualifications is available through Longford and Westmeath Education and Training Board (LWETB) to help local businesses upskill their workforces.

Developed in collaboration with local enterprises and SOLAS under the Skills to Advance initiative, these accredited courses at NFQ Levels 5 and 6 are designed to meet evolving business needs, at little or no cost to employers.

The short, stackable courses typically require just 50 hours to complete and combine expert-led training with self-directed learning. Since 2019, some 90,000 learners have participated in Skills to Advance programmes.

The LWETB micro-qualifications cover a range of essential skills, including: Understanding the Management Role for Improved Performance, Developing Your Leadership Styles, Managing Time and Meetings, Change Management and Sustainable Supply Chain Procurement, Lean Practices for Sustainable Business, and Digital Skills for Business.
