Charity events coming up tonight and in coming days

KBRT quiz tonight, Thursday

A quiz night in aid of the KBRT (Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust) takes place today, Thursday April 3, at the Annebrook House Hotel at 8.30pm.

The trust provides financial assistance and guidance to families seeking to repatriate the remains of loved ones back to the island of Ireland.

If you can’t attend the quiz this evening, but would like to contribute, you can Revolut Eileen at 087 6729312.

There will be a raffle and prizes at the event.

Tennis 4 Cancer, Saturday

Mullingar Tennis Club, in association with Tennis 4 Cancer, is hosting a coffee morning fundraiser this Saturday, April 5, from 11am.

The funds raised will go to ARC Cancer Support Centres and the National Breast Cancer Research Institute.

Visitors can also entry the charity raffle for a chance to win prizes sponsored by Sleator (sleator.ie). Also sponsoring the coffee morning are Paul Fay’s Bar, Granard, and Fagan Print and Design.

Tanzanian Heavenly Homes

There are three Tanzanian Heavenly Homes fundraisers in April.

The first is a music night hosted by Torie and Helena Dunna at Gounod’s Bar in Tyrrellspass tomorrow, Friday April 4, at 9.30pm.

Music is by Greg Dunne and Ursula Maher, with special guests Some One’s Sons.

Donations big or small are welcome.

Serenity Soundbath, next Tuesday

The Tanzanian Heavenly Homes organisation supports Senior Hope, a non-profit in Tanzania, and an event raising funds for it takes place in the Greville Arms Hotel, Mullingar on Tuesday April 8 (7-9pm).

It is an evening retreat with the title Serenity Soundbath, so visitors will be guided through gentle Kundalini yoga and meditation with live music and an instrumental soundbath.

Entry is €25 and refreshments are included.

The night is organised by Carmel Gilbride, and hosted by Olive MacDonagh from Butterfly Cottage Retreat. “Come and try something new for a great cause!” says Carmel.

Quiz night at Gaffney’s, Friday week next

Aoife Murphy is organising a quiz night at Gaffney’s pub in Delvin on Friday April 11 (8pm). There will be a raffle there too and tables of four are €40. The event is in support of Senior Hope Tanzania.
