Ger Rogers Photo Photo by Ger RogersHealthy Offaly and Offaly Athletics are organising the Healthy Offaly 5K Road Race Series again this year.
It is for all abilities, and in particular for ‘couch to 5k’ and ‘fit for life’ runners to take up and maintain running to increase physical activity levels.
The series has more than 300 participants at each of the eight races.
The photo gallery shows local runners taking part in the third race in the series, the Clara 5k, last Sunday morning.
The event was held in bright sunshine, cooler than in the days leading up to the race, and perfect race conditions.
The course took athletes on roads around the outskirts of the town from the start and back to finish in the town centre and included a few testing hills.
Among the 329 entrants were 13 from Mullingar Harriers.
