Derry City condemned Galway United to a 3-2 defeat at Eamonn Deacy Park - the hosts had Cian Byrne sent off early in the second half.

Sligo Rovers are off the bottom of the table, beating 10-man Waterford 4-0 at the RSC.

The Westerners leapfrog Cork City, who suffered a 1-0 defeat to Bohemians at Dalymount Park.

In the First Division, leaders Dundalk shared the spoils away to Treaty United, where it finished 1-0.

It also finished Athlone Town 1 Wexford 1, Bray Wanderers 4 Longford Town 0, Cobh Ramblers 1 UCD 0 and Finn Harps 4 Kerry 2.
