Trian completes personal half marathon for Ben’s Lifeline
Congratulations and well done to Trian Leslie from Streete, who ran a 21k personal half marathon on Saturday last in aid of Ben’s Lifeline charity. Trian completed the run in a time of 1hr and 23 minutes, having set off from his home village at 12 noon, for the finish line at St Finian’s College, Mullingar, where he is a fifth year student.
Trian expressed thanks to everyone who donated to the worthy cause – Ben’s Lifeline celebrates the short life of Ben Murray from Mullingar, a happy, energetic, sport loving boy, who tragically died from a cardiac arrest aged just 13, due to a rare undiagnosed inherited heart condition.
Trian enjoyed support from friends who cheered him on and joined him at different stages along the route, and his mother Mel on her bike for the full distance.
So far, €3,120 has been raised; if you would like to contribute, see search online for ‘GoFundMe Raising money for Ben’s Lifeline’ (click here) or if you are in or near Street, put a donation in an envelope in the Streete Parish Park letter box and it will be passed on.
