Noeleen Corcoran avails of the pharmacy advice at the BMB Active open day.BMB Active members are happy to declare that on Wednesday September 11 many attendees enjoyed an eventful open day at Multyfarnham Community Centre. Club chairman Joe Scally welcomed all and recalled the many day trips, short and long holiday breaks, classes, talks, and activities of 2023.
Excellent examples of the Go For Life Games were available to sample as well as demonstrations including pickleball and bowls.
Stands from Multy Men’s Shed, FidFarnham Social Services, and McGreals Pharmacy included good information and services. There was some award winning art on show, as well as some from the improvers category.
Participants got their steps and exercises in when experienced fitness leader Marian Mooney took folks through their paces with interactive games and exercises activities.
After a discussion on brain health, dance, music and movement instructor Paul Cheevers had everyone reaching “as high as an elephant’s eye” and doing “The Tennessee Waltz”. The spacious hall was perfect for that event. Paul was followed by instruction in Pilates for All.
Scrumptious sandwiches, savouries and sweet treats insured no one was hungry and the raffle meant many went home with prizes.
The newly enrolled members are welcome to BMB Active; and thanks from the BMB Active committee to all those who made it their priority to come along to meet and greet others and in so doing contribute to the overall success.

Classes
Go for life classes, Tuesdays at noon. Yoga, Fridays; floor yoga at 11am and seated yoga at noon; instructor is Eoin Kelly. Dance, Wednesdays at 12.30pm, Paul Cheevers leads music and movement.
Condolences
PJ Fulham of Joanstown, Rathowen, sadly died recently. Sympathy to all his family, his son Peter and grandchildren Derek, Darren, David, Denise, Alan Lisa, Ciara and Caolan. PJ’s parents and son Ignatius went before him. May he rest in peace.
Kevin Keogh passed away on Sept 6. Kevin lived a long and fruitful life farming in Lismaleady, Multyfarnham. It’s hard not to think of Kevin and smile because he had a unique way about him that made him such a likeable character. He will be sadly missed by his wife Ann (O’Neill), sons Joseph and Stephen, daughters Carmel (Greene) and Collette and grandchildren Clarien and Sádhbh. May his gentle soul rest in peace.
