Rosemount cleaning up!

Members of the Rosemount GAA Social Initiative Group were hard at work at the club grounds and community centre on Saturday morning, cleaning up in preparation for judging in the National Age Friendly Recognition and Achievements Awards 2024.

They are representing Westmeath and the judges are due on Monday next to inspect the grounds and facilities.

A spokesperson for Westmeath County Council said: “This is an exceptional achievement for this group and great recognition in itself as they are one of the five applicants shortlisted from 87 applications under the Active and Healthy Ageing Award category.”

The judges Jackie Maguire, former CE in Meath County Council, and Peter Hynes, former CE in Mayo County Council, will be visiting this group on Monday, September 23 from 10.30am until noon, in Rosemount GAA Community Centre.

Winners will be announced at an event on November 7 in Dublin.
