It was knockout time in Senior A as the semi-final pairings brought the possibility of a 2023 rematch for the decider with Raharney and Clonkill bidding to return to TEG Cusack Park to battle for the Matrix Cup.

Raharney took on Crookedwood in the first of the double-header in Kinnegad GAA on Saturday, while Clonkill took Drumraney.

Raharney maintained their incredible ten season unbeaten run. A strong start saw them take control and they never look back as a wonderful hat-trick from Hannah Core set them on their way to a 4-10 to 0-1 win.

In the second game, two evenly-matched and high-scoring sides in Clonkill and Drumraney put their skills to the test for a final spot.

What transpired was a surprise to many as Clonkill blitzed their opponents with early goals from Lucy Power helped the Loughegar side to a comprehensive 5-19 to 2-2 victory.

Senior Relegation on Sunday was between Castletown-Geoghegan and Delvin. The final score of 3-10 to 0-6 going in favour of Castletown means they now enter the Senior B grade with St Munna’s, St Brigid’s, and Lough Lene Gaels next week. Beaten team, Delvin go to junior for 2025.

In the Junior A section, beaten 2023 finalists, Castlepollard, faced off against a Cullion side hoping to make a return to the top tier. Despite 1-2 from Alice Dilo, another goal from Chloe Dolphin, and a raft of points from Emma Broughan, Eva Cawley, Megan Ennis, and Darian Corcoran, the Cullion team fell short with Jemma Maybury and Celeste Dermody hitting 2-1 each. Niamh McCarthy (0-5), Lauryn Sheridan (0-1), and Caoimhe McCormack (1-7) helping their side win out 5-15 to 2-10

Brownstown and Raharney was postponed due to a bereavement. We send our condolences to all in the Brownstown club at this sad time. All Brownstown fixtures, including the U14 final and the aforementioned, will be rescheduled.

Junior B saw Clonkill and Mullingar side, St Oliver Plunkett’s, go head-to-head while Athlone side, Southern Gaels, took on their neighbours from down the R390 in Drumraney. Clonkill had enough to spare over the green and white while history was made for the Athlone side as Southern Gaels reached a first ever adult final in camogie on the same day their U14 side captured the first ever silverware for the club.

A sensational day for the red and gold and a testament to the efforts they put in. Drumraney, magnanimous in defeat, will be back again stronger than ever for 2025.

U14 Finals

A huge congratulations to all the teams who played across the venues this weekend in the U14 finals. There was some incredible skill, scoring, defending, and great goalkeeping on show. Well done to all the winning sides who took home silverware too, including a special mention for Southern Gaels who secured the first ever trophy for the club in camogie at any age as the club continues to build on great foundations.
