New faces join returning members at Mullingar Choral Society rehearsal

The first Mullingar Choral Society rehearsal of the autumn season drew a great turnout of returning members and some new faces as well.

Musical director is John White said he is delighted to be back with the Mullingar singers again this year. John conducted their Christmas concert last year, and he has put together an exciting programme of music for the Christmas concert this year, featuring John Rutter’s beautiful ‘Gloria’ and including ‘O Magnum Mysterium’ by Morten Lauridsen and some Christmas favourites both old and new.

The Christmas concert will, as is traditional in the town, open the Christmas season in Mullingar, and this year the date to remember is on Sunday December 1 in the Cathedral of Christ the King.

New members are welcome to join Mullingar Choral Society – just go along to the rehearsals on Tuesdays at 7.30pm in All Saints Church.

There is no audition and no experience or ability to sight-read music is necessary.
