Lough Owel water level ‘normal for time of year’

In response to a request from the Westmeath Examiner about the water level on Lough Owel, Uisce Éireann sent the following statement:

Uisce Éireann regularly monitors water levels on Lough Owel. Currently water levels are in line with levels that are considered normal for this time of the year, based on the data of the last five years. As water levels generally rise from October onwards, at present it is not deemed necessary to issue a general water conservation notice.
