Sunshine, smiles and fun at Clonkill
Revive Active fun day for Down Syndrome Ireland at Clonkill GAA grounds
Revive Active hosted a vibrant and heartwarming fun day for Down Syndrome Ireland at Clonkill GAA grounds on Thursday week last, September 19.
Blessed with sunny weather, the day featured a variety of outdoor activities that brought smiles to all attendees. Indoors, the clubhouse was transformed into a lively disco, while a wellness room offered a peaceful retreat as the impressive facilities were put to great use.
Triona McDonald, brand manager at Revive Active, reflected on the day. “It was a wonderful day and everyone enjoyed the various activities,” she said.
With over 60 staff from Revive Active involved, many of whom travelled from overseas and other counties, the event saw participation from over 100 people, including family members of those with Down Syndrome.
The day was filled with positive energy and joy, and the fine weather only added to the success of the occasion. “It was pretty much a celebration of what we have with Down Syndrome Ireland,” Ms McDonald said, emphasising the importance of community and inclusion.
To cap off the day, an ice cream van arrived, much to the delight of everyone present. The treat was the perfect way to end what had been a memorable day.
Down Syndrome Ireland, which has 25 branches nationwide, is primarily run by volunteer parents who provide a range of services and social opportunities for their members. This fun day, filled with laughter and camaraderie, was a testament to the invaluable work the organisation does across the country.
