Robyn Kelly to take home European Bronze Medal

Robyn Kelly, of Ballynacargy Boxing Club, will take home a European Bronze Medal from the European Under-22 Championships in Sofia, Bulgaria.

Today the ultra talented 19-year old had to settle for second best against a vastly experienced opponent in Paris Olympian and reigning European champion, Serbia’s Sara Cirkovic.

Kelly’s rise to the elite stage has been remarkable, having overcome a strong challenge from Tatsiana Trushkina in the quarter-final on Tuesday. A four-time European medal winner, Kelly’s class and skill were evident as she outmatched her opponent. Already with 10 national boxing titles to her resume. Overall, she has to be pleased to have secured another European Bronze medal and her coaches and colleagues at the Ballynacargy club are extremely proud.

Robyn will now focus on the upcoming elite championships in four weeks' time as she continues to grow and develop in her chosen sport. She can take pride at being part of of a very good Irish team once again.
