Night was about sharing our success – chamber president
The judges for the Mullingar Chamber Awards 2024 had difficult decisions to make as they assessed the nominees in each of 15 categories, but they completed the task and the winners were announced on Friday week last in the Mullingar Park Hotel.
Mullingar Chamber president James Bourke welcomed everyone as he opened the evening and highlighted the role business has in the community. Minister Peter Burke, TD, said in his remarks that it is both large and small businesses that drive growth, employment and prosperity in the area. Ronan Berry was the host for the event and he outlined the award categories and introduced the finalists.
The chamber president said: “We had a wonderful night for the Chamber Awards 2024. It was a lovely event that fostered networking among the various businesses that operate in the Mullingar area. The night was about bringing our business community together to celebrate their successes and also to recognise the ambassadors of our town.
“By ambassadors, we refer to the people who go above and beyond to promote Mullingar town as a better place to live, work or do business.
“Also our chamber has been extremely busy in recent months, so it was a nice opportunity for us to share with the crowd what we have achieved recently and some of our plans for the future.
“I would like to congratulate all the winners on the night. We were lucky to have a high calibre of nominees in all of the 15 categories, and that left the decision to choose the eventual winners difficult for the judging panel.
“I’d like to thank the judges for their time and effort – they were James Kiernan (Chambers Ireland), Grainne Cornally (Fáilte Ireland) and Will Faulkner (Midlands 103).”
Get Hitched provided the music and the dancing went on into the night. The chamber expressed thanks to Ronan Berry, the Mullingar Park Hotel, Minister Peter Burke, photographers Barry Monaghan and Gary McGivney, The Blue Door Agency, Nolan Sound, Minds-I, Midland Trophies, Paul Flynch (reception music), and everyone else who made the event possible, including the award sponsors.
