Sunday Competition

Last Sunday November 10, the turkey shoot saw 95 men compete over 15 holes, marking Week 3 of the Fairgreen TV Winter League. Conditions began soft and damp but improved as the morning progressed. Despite the abundance of autumn leaves, David Perdisatt’s team maintained the course in excellent condition. Yellow tees were again in play, presenting their own challenges, and the greens remained slow due to recent hollow-tining and sanding, the benefits of which will soon be appreciated.

Sunday’s winners were: Frank Cotter (08) with 36 points in Category 1 (0-11), Jim Thornton (14) with 37 points in Category 2 (12-16), Mark Derham (21) with 35 points in Category 3 (17-22), and Leonard Hickey (26) with 32 points in Category 4 (23+). Congratulations to the four winners.

Honourable mentions go to Ultan Healy, David Tynan, Andrew Flynn, Jim Curran, Brian Curran, Tom Delaney, Joe Martin, and Hugh O’Neill, who each scored 30 points or more and narrowly missed out on second or third in their respective categories.

Thanks again to the Men’s Branch for their generous sponsorship.
