Uisce Éireann working to repair major burst at Gaybrook

Uisce Éireann are working to repair a major burst on a water main at Gaybrook, Mullingar.

Expert water services crews are at the location of the burst and are carrying out repair works to restore the water supply as quickly as possible to customers.

The areas affected are Gaybrook, Gainestown, Rochfortbridge and wider area.

Repairs are expected to be completed by 6pm today Saturday 23 November.

Following repair work, it typically takes two to three hours for normal supply to fully be restored to all areas as the water refills the network, especially for those on higher ground or at the end of the network.

As per best practice, most homes and businesses will have on-site water storage to provide a backup source of water for sanitation purposes.

"We understand the inconvenience unplanned outages can have on customers and we appreciate your patience as we work to return the water supply to customers as quickly as possible."
