Loreto College Class of 1994 celebration

The Loreto College Mullingar Class of 1994 gathered last week in Caffery’s on Mount Street to celebrate a 30-year reunion. Lynn Hallahan, Dearbhla Gilchrist, and Liz Ford organised the event with the aim of reconnecting former classmates and catching up on life since their school days.

“It’s been 30 years, and we thought it would be wonderful to catch up with everyone,” said Lynn. “Some of us are parents, some single, some divorced, and even some grandparents and it’d be nice to see where everybody’s at in this stage in life.”

“We had a 21-year reunion, obviously nine years ago, and a lot has to do with Facebook. A lot of us are still on Facebook, we have a Class of 94 page and we reactivated that and, we had a way of contacting people and letting people know what was going on.

The evening also included a nostalgic moment as Vera Hines, a former teacher at Loreto College, attended. “Having Vera here is really special. She was my teacher, we are delighted to have her here with us tonight,” Lynn said.

“In particular we would like to remember Majella Scally, and Tanya Bandalou.” The group enjoyed the evening, a reminder of the bonds formed during their school days.
