Garda Commissioner buys copy of Little Blue Heroes book

Garda Anthony Scanlon and Sergeant James Rowan of Longford Community Policing Unit joined Garda Emma Kiernan and Blue Light Santa author Jessica Thompson in Emerald Park on Saturday for the annual Little Blue Heroes Christmas party.

The team sold approximately 300 books, all in aid of the Little Blue Heroes Foundation. Even Commissioner Drew Harris purchased a copy, signed by the author.

This year’s book is called Operation Blue Light Prankster and features two Mullingar girls, Lucy Thompson and Saoirse Reynolds.

The book will be officially launched on Sunday, December 1, at Bridgeways Family Resource Centre in Ballymahon.

Members of the public are invited to come along between 4pm and 6pm on that day to purchase a copy of this year’s book, or the previous books.

The author and illustrator will both be available to sign copies, and Blue Santa himself will be there to greet the children and get photos taken.
