Christmas cracker of a fair at St Colman’s National School
St Colman’s NS has once again pulled off a cracker of a Christmas Fair as hundreds of the people from the school community walked through the doors on Sunday December 1 for the annual fundraiser.
The school was aglow with Christmas finery for those who visited between 11am and 2pm to avail of the fabulous wares and services generously provided by the parents association and school staff.
Magic filled the classrooms, corridors and hall throughout the event. The PE hall was a hub of crafts and cakes; there was tea, coffee and hot chocolate as well as pancakes and spring rolls for the adults and popcorn and ice cream for the children; there was face-painting and Christmas crackers; there were elves to pelt; there was a photobooth experience to capture that special family Christmas photo; and of course Santa was at hand in his grotto to meet all the boys and girls.
Principal Ger Beehan thanked the parents association and staff. “This is a key fundraiser for much-needed resources in our school and our wonderful parents association always pulls out all the stops to make the fair the huge success that it is.
“Our staff also go beyond the call of duty giving their free time and endless energy to make this magic happen.”
