Coaching workshops continue in Westmeath

Westmeath Coaching and Games hosted the first of 4 scheduled workshops last Friday in Maryland, with former Corofin manager and Connacht GAA tutor Kevin Johnson conducting a workshop on decision making through game-based scenarios.

Over 40 coaches attended a session which incorporated theory and practical elements with the county U16 football development squad. Many thanks to Kevin Johnson for the excellent workshop, our staff for organising, Maryland for hosting, the U16 players, and to all the coaches who attended.

Topic: Fostering Leadership & Resilience in Players

Venue: St. Loman’s GAA, 2:00 - 3:30

Saturday 22nd February – Barry Mullane (Current Down Senior Hurling Coach)

Topic: Practical Approaches to Skill Development in Team Sports

Venue: Raharney GAA, 10:00 - 1:30

Coach Education

Westmeath Coaching and Games will run a series of coach education course across February, March and April. All information on Introduction to Gaelic Games Courses (IGGC) and Level 1 Courses have been circulated to club coaching officers so any interested parties are asked to contact their coaching officer on this.
