Thousands remain without electricity this morning
Thousands of Westmeath homes and businesses remain without electricity this morning.
At lunch time yesterday, approximately 12,000 local properties were still waiting for their power to return, however, by last night that figured had halved to around 6,000.
Crews from France, Austria, The Netherlands, and Finland are due to arrive in Ireland today to help the ESB efforts to restore electricity to homes and businesses across the country.
