Planning sought for EV charging hub on Dublin Road

Planning permission has been lodged for another electrical vehicle (EV) charging station in Mullingar.

The planning application by Applegreen Electric Irl Service Areas Ltd includes details for the installation of 16 EV charging stations and a substation, as well as the construction of two canopies and all associated site works.

If given the go-ahead by Westmeath County Council, the charging station will be located on a site on the Dublin Road close to the Applegreen service station. The decision due date for the application is February 18.

In August of last year, SEE opened Ireland’s first ultra-rapid electric vehicle (EV) charging hub in Lough Sheever Corporate Park.

The 10-bay facility was the first of its kind in the country.
