TEG Cusack Park receiving extensive upgrade
Development work with the dressing rooms and other upgrades at TEG Cusack Park are progressing well, according to Westmeath GAA chairman Frank Mescall.
Addressing the matter at the January County Committee meeting, Mescall confirmed that extensive improvements have already been carried out. He stated that one dressing room on each side was completed in time for the recent football game between Westmeath and Louth.
Westmeath's next game at TEG Cusack Park takes place on Sunday, February 9 (with the visit of the Dublin hurlers), by which time further work will be completed. Spectators at the Louth match may not have noticed changes on the pitch, but significant progress has been made.
“The stand has been properly sealed underneath, and the dressing rooms have been completely upgraded. Electrical and plumbing work is finished, new floors and carpentry are in place, and it is looking very good,” Mescall explained.
While acknowledging that work is not yet complete, he reassured clubs that the improvements already made are of the highest quality.
“There is still a lot to be done, but at the moment, the work that has been completed is top-class,” he concluded.
