Clubs seek permission for borrowings to complete projects
Three GAA clubs in Westmeath were given the green light to proceed with burrowings in order to complete development projects at their grounds. The matter came up for approval at a meeting of the County Committee in the Mullingar Park Hotel.
Multyfarnham, St Mary’s, Rochfortbridge and Killucan sought permission from the County Committee for borrowings needed to complete development projects at their grounds.
Multyfarnham require bridging finance of €75,000 for work that they're doing at the pitch, which will be covered by sports capital and clár grants. St Mary's, Rochfortbridge requested €166,025 bridging finance for a very similar project which is covered by a sports leader grant.
Killucan, as part of their pitch purchase, requested permission for a borrowing of €70,000 to help finance the project.
Approval was given following a proposal by Des Briody, seconded by Tom Hunt.
Chairman Frank Mescall complimented the clubs and noted the considerable development work that's going on throughout the county. “Massive, massive credit to all the clubs,” he remarked.
