Rotary Club present their share of Remembrance Tree funds to Hospice

Mullingar Rotary club and North Westmeath Hospice have jointly had a Remembrance Tree in Mullingar Town for many years in the weeks leading up to Christmas.

The Remembrance Tree is an opportunity for people to remember loved ones. This year the names were written on remembering cards, which were presented at local churches after Christmas.

It is also a fundraiser for Mullingar Rotary Club and North Westmeath Hospice.

All money raised is divided equally between the groups.

The money raised by Mullingar Rotary is donated to various good causes throughout the year. Rotary are aware of the many voluntary organisations in the area who depend on donations and the goodwill of the people for their survival.

The North Westmeath Hospice donate their proceeds to local specialist palliative homecare services.

Mullingar Rotary Club made a cheque presentation to North Westmeath Hospice on 27 January, with their share of proceeds from the Christmas Remembrance Tree.

Thanks to everyone for the very generous response to this special fundraiser, both charities are very grateful for this support, especially during these difficult times.
