Gardai investigate aggravated burglary on outskirts of Athlone

An investigation has been launched into an aggravated burglary that took place on the outskirts of Athlone earlier today (Tuesday).

In a statement issued to the Westmeath Independent, a Garda spokesperson said Gardaí responded to an incident of an aggravated burglary that occurred at a home in Athlone, Co Roscommon, at approximately 1am this morning, February 11.

"No injuries were reported to Gardaí. Investigations are ongoing at this time," the statement added.
