Jamie, Lucy, Líle and Eoghan from junior infants.Gaelscoil an Mhuilinn were delighted to host a Daffodil Day/Lá Lus an Chromchinn fundraiser last week in support of the Irish Cancer Society. There was great excitement at the school that morning as they also had a visit from Nuacht Cúla 4 to film a segment regarding the fundraIser. The school community came out in force to support Lá Lus an Chromchinn and it was a great success with just over €1,100 being raised for the charity.
Priomhoide Bríd de Bhial noted: "Is cúis áthais dúinn tacú le The Irish Cancer Society. Níl dabht ar bith faoi ach go ndéanann siad sár-obair ag tacú le daoine a bhfuil ailse orthu agus ag tacú lena muintir chomh maith. Tá sé rí-thábhachtach go bhfuil an maoiniú acu chun leanúint ar aghaidh leis an obair iontach a dhéanann siad’.
"We are incredibly proud to host this fundraiser for the Irish Cancer Society. They do outstanding work supporting cancer patients and their families. It is vital that they have the funding to continue this essential service. Gaelscoil an Mhuilinn are delighted to help in a small way with this and we are very grateful to our school community for their support with this worthy event.
