Kids now go free at Belvedere House Gardens and Park
Children of 18 years and younger can now visit Belvedere House Gardens and Park free of charge (offer not valid for special events).
Belvedere is open all year round and visitors of all abilities can enjoy up to 10km of safe, scenic and serene woodland and lakeshore walks, beautiful gardens, and learn about the unique history of the property.
There is a newly renovated fairy garden, four children’s play areas, including a 30-metre zipline.
Visitors can also enjoy several picnic areas on the estate, and the Lakeside Café is open 9.30am to 5pm.
Kids go free is in partnership with Mullingar Lions Club, who offer a range of community projects to empower the youth improve health and wellbeing.
Cllr Ken Glynn, mayor of the Municipal District of Mullingar Kinnegad, said: “This initiative between the council and Mullingar Lions Club is a super offering for families near and far – it will make Belvedere more accessible to all, encouraging more children and teenagers to engage in outside activities running and walking on the extensive trails.”
Deirdre Reilly, director of services at the county council, added: “This is a commendable donation that enhances Belvedere House, Gardens and Park offering, opening the estate to more visitors and in turn aid in our development and regeneration plans.”
From Saturday 26 April, all children up to 18 years of age will be free entry on daily admission and memberships for all families.
