Mullingar Shamrocks stage stunning comeback to sink Moate All Whites

ACFL Division 1: Mullingar Shamrocks 1-14, Moate All Whites 0-12

On Easter Saturday, Mullingar Shamrocks produced a remarkable second-half turnaround to defeat Moate All Whites by five points in Springfield, despite trailing by the same margin at half-time.

Moate dominated the opening half, with scores from Niall Hagan (0-3), Ruairí Cunningham (0-4), Eoin Bracken (0-3), and Billy Berry helping them to a 0-7 to 0-2 interval lead. Daragh Lowry impressed from wing-back, while Shamrocks struggled for rhythm, Dean Moore’s late first-half point their only highlight after John O’Reilly’s early opener.

The game turned after the break, as Ross Corroon led the charge with six points (including two monster two-pointers), and substitutes Donnacha Maguire, Paddy Fagan and Lorcan Smyth all made an impact. Daragh Daly and Alan Cashman chipped in before Dean Moore struck decisively - his toe-poked goal following up a saved effort put Shamrocks ahead.

Further scores from Corroon, Fagan, Ryan Kelly, and Moore sealed the win. Adam Glynn stood tall in defence with key interventions as Moate pushed for a late goal.
