Winning Back The High Street
Bobby Kerr’s Down To Business programme on Newstalk 106-108fm is being broadcast live from Mullingar this Saturday, May 14.
Miller & Cook is the host venue for the show, which will be on air from 10am to noon.
Bobby’s popular ‘Winning Back the High Street’ Roadshow has visited towns all over Ireland to see how they’ve survived the recession.
At Miller & Cook, he will be chatting to some of the businesses owners in the town and county and asking if Westmeath has bounced back yet, and what the future is for business and retail.
Guests include Ryanair’s Michael O’Leary, Foster and Allen, Andrew Shaw of Shaws Department Store, who are due to open a new shop in Mullingar, and Stephen Bell of Bell Lane Coffee.
The show will also be looking at Mullingar’s musical heritage with Ben Dolan, brother of Joe, and Christy Maye, Ireland’s first DJ and owner and proprietor of The Greville Arms Hotel.
Bobby is a passionate supporter of the rejuvenation of town centres and urges town managers and planners to get people back to their main streets.
Chairman of Insomnia Coffee, Bobby announced last year on his radio show that he had been diagnosed with cancer of the head and neck.
Having taken time off for treatment, he returned to the airwaves in January and is back to presenting his show ‘Down to Business’ each Saturday at 10am.
All available tickets have been allocated to listeners who applied through the NewsTalk website.
