Westmeath Paralympians' homecoming

The Westmeath local authorities have confirmed the homecoming arrangements for the county's Paralympian medallists, Mark Rohan and Damien Shaw.Mark secured gold for Ireland in the men's individual hand cycling 8km time-trial, with a time of 35:41.54 and gold in the H1 48km road race in 1.53.09.Damien Shaw, a sighted pilot cycling with James Brown, won Paralympic bronze in the individual B time trial.The homecoming celebrations will take place in Ballinahown on the evening of Tuesday September 11. Entertainment will be provided and a parade through the village will precede the formal ceremony at 7pm.Those attending the celebrations should arrive early in Ballinahown as traffic diversions will be in place.
