Weekend weather outlook: 'showery'
Saturday and Sunday are going to be showery, with possibly longer spells of rain, according to Met Éireann (met.ie).
The forecasters say temperatures will be in the low to mid teens at best on both days and it could be breezy, but wind details are not certain at this stage.
They’re telling us that here will be scattered showers today too, mostly light, but a few heavy ones are possible in the east.
Temperatures should get up to 13 to 16 degrees, in a north-westerly breeze.
Tonight will start dry with clear spells, but cloud will increase from the west, followed by outbreaks of rain in the west.
Tomorrow, rain in the west will spread eastwards during the morning, and will clear the east coast again early afternoon.
Sunny spells will follow, but showers will also develop during the afternoon.
Highest temperatures of 14 to 18 degrees in moderate, occasionally fresh west to southwest breezes.
Outlook
Unsettled conditions will persist for Friday and the weekend, but because of the uncertainty in the development and tracks of the low pressure systems on the Atlantic, details for the weekend are uncertain at this moment.
Friday may start mainly dry and bright, but rain will spread from the southwest to affect all areas during Friday afternoon or evening. The rain will be heavy locally and will be accompanied by freshening southerly winds.
This rain will then give way to rather showery conditions for Saturday and Sunday, with possibly longer spells of rain. Temperatures will be in the low to mid teens at best on both days and it could be breezy, but wind details are not certain at this stage.
Present indications are that it will stay changeable after the weekend, though Monday may turn out to be mainly dry.
