Time to hang up

Efforts are being made to have two Smart Telephone kiosks located in Mullingar removed, Cllr Mick Dollard was assured at the most recent meeting of the Mullingar Municipal District Committee (MMDC).

The two identified by Cllr Dollard are located at Mullingar General Post Office on Dominick Street and also at Austin Friars Street.

“They do not appear to be in use,” Cllr Dollard told the MMDC.

In the formal written reply to his request, MMDC replied that as part of the urban design associated with the Mullingar Town Enhancement Scheme, Mullingar Municipal District has written to the reputed owners of these telephone kiosks with a view to removing same.

“No response has been received to date. However, this matter will be followed up,” the reply concluded.
