Mullingar Autos hosts talk on rural crime next week
RTÉ presenter Darragh McCullough and renowned crime author Paul Williams will take centre stage at an evening of discussion on the topic of rural crime, on Thursday April 14 from 7pm in Mullingar Autos Škoda, Dublin Bridge, Mullingar.
The seminar is the second in a series of ‘Nation Talks’ events hosted by Škoda, which are being rolled out across the country to discuss topical issues in suburban and rural Ireland. The upcoming event in Mullingar will discuss the recent upsurge in rural crime.
The evening will be hosted in the comfortable surroundings of Mullingar Autos new state-of-the-art Škoda showroom. Host for the evening will be agricultural journalist Darragh McCullough with special guest Paul Williams.
Darragh McCullough, who recently discussed the topical issue on RTÉ’s Ear to the Ground, will also highlight the challenges faced by rural Ireland, with insight and input from Westmeath crime prevention sergeant with An Garda Síochána, John Connolly and Eastern Region Development Officer, Conor O’Leary, from Muintir na Tíre.
Speaking ahead of the event, Škoda ambassador Darragh McCullough said: “The issue of rural crime has become so severe in the last two years, that rural families no longer feel safe in their homes.
"With this event we hope to shed some light on precautions people can take and hopefully provide some peace of mind.”
Also commenting ahead of the event, Jim Bourke, Mullingar Autos Škoda said: “We are delighted to be hosting this Nation Talks event and look forward to welcoming lots of both new and familiar faces to our stunning new showroom.
“It’s a wonderful opportunity for us to mark the beginning of a new chapter for Mullingar Autos as we celebrate the official launch of our new state-of-the-art showroom.
