Two assaulted in Mullingar
Two men assaulted in separate incidents in Mullingar last week suffered minor injuries. One was set upon by two males in the Grange area between 1pm and 2pm on Monday September 18. Officers believe the man, who suffered two black eyes and bruising to his back, was struck by an implement. The motive was not known.
The injured man was described as being in his late 40s while one of his alleged assailants is believed to be around the same age while a younger man was also alleged to have been involved.
In the second incident which occurred at about 10.30pm on Sunday, a man was struck outside a licensed premises in Oliver Plunkett Street. According to a report, a person was being escorted from the premises when he struck the owner in the face and body.
Gardaí are examining CCTV footage from the area in a bid to identify the culprit.

Driver left the scene
The driver of a Peugeot who left the scene of a two-vehicle collision at Whitehall at the weekend is being sought by gardaí. According to a report, he fled the scene on foot after his vehicle collided with a taxi on the Castlepollard Road at about 3am on Sunday September 24.
Officers impounded the vehicle, while the driver of the taxi, who is from Mullingar, was taken to hospital in Mullingar for observation.
Separately, the driver of a car which was involved in a two-vehicle collision in Dysart on Friday evening, September 22, was removed to the same hospital, suffering from minor injuries. The car collided with the wall of Dysart Church following a collision with a vehicle which was travelling in the opposite direction.

Man in his 20s arrested
A man in his 20s and from the Mullingar area is due before court early next month, following a garda operation last week. Officers concentrated on a number of licensed premises in the town and detained the man in the early hours of Sunday, September 24. The man, found to be in possession of cocaine and a sum of cash, was taken to Mullingar Garda Station for questioning. He was charged and released on bail to appear before Mullingar District Court on October 5.

Equipment stolen from training centre
Equipment, including two lap tops, mobile phones and a camcorder, were stolen from a training centre in Mullingar last week. The theft is believed to have occurred late on Tuesday night, September 19 or early the following morning, in the Fair Green area of the town.
According to the gardaí, the value of the haul is in the region of €2,000.

Bicycle wheel stolen
The front wheel of a bicycle, valued at €600, was stolen from Mullingar Garda Station last week.
The incident was reported to gardaí on Wednesday last, September 20, and occurred at about 1.45pm. Following viewing of CCTV coverage from the area, investigating officers are following a definite line of enquiry.

Criminal damage
A business premises on the Green Road in Mullingar was targeted by vandals on Tuesday night last.
Two stones were thrown through the window of the premises. The damage was discovered when the owner went to open the premises on Wednesday morning.
