Mullingar Rotary Club presents a choral treat for charity
A musical treat is coming your way this Sunday, 20 May, at 7.30pm in the fine setting that is All Saints Church, Mullingar, when Mullingar Rotary Club presents a charity concert starring the award-winning Duhallow Choral Society from Kanturk in County Cork.
Duhallow Choral Society was founded in 1996 by Brigid Daly, the current choir manager.
The Duhallow singers perform sacred church, mixed popular, classical and traditional music pieces to a high standard of excellence.
Their musical director is Sharon Reidy, a native of South Africa now living in Kerry.
The choir have performed for, among others, President Michael D Higgins, Senator Hillary Clinton, in Leinster House (with proceeds going to the Capuchin Day Centre), in the European Parliament in Brussels and with New York firemen at Ground Zero.
They toured Chicago for St Patrick’s Day 2018 as guests of the Chicago Rose of Tralee to mark the end of her year as Chicago Rose and as the city’s representative at the 2017 International Rose of Tralee festival.
Duhallow Choral Society have over the years raised €400,000+ for charity, performing concerts regionally, nationally and internationally, and are delighted on this occasion to assist Mullingar Rotary Club to raise funds for Mullingar projects.
It is Mullingar Rotary Club’s privilege to welcome them to Mullingar.

They will be joined on stage by the Choir of St Kenny National School, Kilpatrick, Mullingar, under the musical direction of their principal, Arthur Fallon.
The school choir are fresh from national singing competition success at the recent Navan Choral Festival.
Their enthusiastic, young singing voices will bring a lovely local element to this feast of musical excellence.
Master of ceremonies duties for the concert will be carried out by Arthur Fallon.
