Niall 'engaged' to Katy Perry

Niall Horan is 'engaged' to Katy Perry.

The Mullingar pop idol, who has been rated the third most influential Twitter user in the UK, took to the social networking site earlier today to tell his 15 million followers that he is 'engaged' to Russel Brand's ex-wife.

A long time admirer of the singer, Niall popped the question to Perry in a tongue in cheek tweet on October 21. Along with his announcement of their 'engagement', Niall also posted a photo of him and Perry up close and personal.

Niall has had a long standing crush on Perry, who is in a long term relationship with American singer John Mayer. He was lucky enough to share a kiss with her at the MTV MVAs last year.
