Four patients on trolleys at Mullingar hospital today

There are four patients on trolleys at the Midland Regional Hospital, Mullingar today.

That’s according to the daily survey conducted by the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation - Trolley Watch.

The four patients on trolleys in Mullingar are in the Emergency Department.

The equivalent number at Tullamore hospital is one.

The highest number of patients on trolleys today is at University Hospital Limerick, at 22 in the ED plus a further nine on other wards.

At Cork University Hospital the number of patients on trolleys is 19, all on the ED.

Nationally, there are 109 patients on trolleys, 92 of them in the Emergency Departments.
